Granite Peaks is a 3,000 acre ranch and farm development located on the border of Nevada and Utah near Garrison, Utah. With a flavor of the Old West, the ranch is over a hundred miles from the nearest community. Granite Peaks was a lesson in organization and preparedness. The primary design directives was to develop a working farm while preserving the open range around and throughout the project. The project also required stringent envinronmental requirements to preserve soil and range characteristics. Primarily completed as a design-build development, services for the project included culinary and irrigation water, transportation, and power.
A self-sufficient crew mobilized to install over 100,000 feet of culinary and irrigation mainline, power, and six miles of road improvements. In addition, a ready-mix batch plant was set up onsite and operated to provide concrete for the building improvments. The most recent addition to Granite Peaks Ranch is a 4,850 ft. runway with full guidance and approach lighting and hangar. Granite Peaks Ranch is an example of a design-build team coordinating a project to completion on schedule and budget while preserving the unique needs of each development. |
